When I turned on my Win 7 desktop, I got the following message:
The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
The message had an "OK" button below it. After I pressed "OK", I got a manufacturer logo [DELL] in a rectangle, with a (profile?) name [Steve] under it.
I AM able to boot in safe mode (but don't don't know much about using it). As you know, other than Android on my tablet, I'm still in tbe XP-age knowledge-wise.
The last things I did before the current prob. were run AVG Free complete system scan, and also Malwarebytes. Neither found errors. As info, I use my desktop computer very infrequently, but I resumed income tax volunteering this week (Perry/Linda got me involved at SLUGO@Dietz years ago), and I need my 'big computer' to print some forms. And pay some bills. And do some other financial transactions that I'm more confident doing in Win than Droid.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

FIXED! My first time using Regedit, but I followed the video step-by-step that Greg recommended (after I'd practically memorized it), and my 'big computer' is healed! If I could dance, I would. --Steve
