A good friend just emailed a question about setting up her software on a replacement laptop. Her old machine crashed suddenly. She had recently installed a copy of Norton Anti-Virus purchased from Sams on the old machine. What hoops will she have to jump through to install the six-week old Norton on her new machine?
Has anyone had this experience woprking with Symantec?
Thank you.

I would just proceed with the install on the new machine. Some AV programs are licensed for up to (say) 3 machines while others are licensed for just one. If the latter applies to her, then given the circumstances, I'm sure Norton will accomodate. I don't know the procedural details. She may be able to transfer her license online or a phone call may be required.
Good Luck and please keep us updated on her progress.

As long as she has her number it should go right on the new system minus the days already used.
