Windows security updates are available on ISO-9660 DVD5 image files from the Microsoft Download Center
Want to have your very own DVD image of Windows XP security updates?
You can keep these around for when you reinstall the operating system. That should speed things up when it comes time to download the dozens of updates from the Windows Update site.
