Ever wish your PC had a "super folder," one that would automatically sync whatever you dragged into it with your phone, your other PCs, and the Web? That's Dropbox in a nutshell. It's one of the Web's most popular services, and with good reason: it makes file and folder sharing ridiculously easy. A free Dropbox account nets you 2GB of storage space, which is great. If you don't already have a Dropbox account, I highly recommend it. www.dropbox.com/ (watch the demo video on the home page)

Dropbox lied to me, Derek. All of their assurances for syncing files went up in smoke the SECOND that I tried to provide a link to my file. They took me DIRECTLY to the "Upgrade" page where I had to choose to upgrade to either premium or pro (or whatever their terms were) before they would let me provide a link to my file. I can't even find contact info for them to give them a chance to make things right. Are there other "legitimate" similar operations? Talk about disheartening!

Hi Mit:
First let's clarify between syncing and sharing.
Syncing means if you have more than one device, if you edit or create a file in a dropbox folder, the new file or edits will also appear on every one of your devices that are able to access that folder.
Sharing is where you send an email link to either a folder or file that you have designated shareable.
The recipient does not need a dropbox account to access it.
Here is a descriptive video that shows you how to do this:

Thanks a whole bunch! I spent an hour and a half today trying to get someone from Cox that knew their ***** from a hole in the ground, and it was so stressful I came down with a Migraine and had to bail out and lie down for a while. It's time for dinner, but I for sure will watch the video later tonight.
