You have a new motherboard and it takes SATA drives only. There is a simple answer and that a converter. Ebay has small converters that attach to your ATA ide drive so they can be plugged into a Sata motherboard. No drivers just plug into drive and run sata cable to it and plug a power line to the adapter. Ebay has them for around $10 shipping included.

Sounds like a good way to (re)use some ATA drives, especially since some seem to be going for not much money in the big box stores!
