If you have a garage sale or looking for someone to buy your old tube type tvs you better take any offer you get.
I was at Goodwill the other day and they have signs posted all over stating that they will no longer take any tube type tvs.
I am thinking that will be extended to tube type Computer Monitors.
Other wise you may be paying recycle center to take them.
Unless you drive around Oak View mall parking lot and find a empty pickup truck and drop it off.
Or maybe paint it green and put it in with your grass recycle.
If you lived in Florida you could put them in a sink hole.
Cable them together and sell them for river bank stabilization.
Tell everybody they make neat yard art.
Leave them in the basement and let your family deal with it after you die.
Put a sign in a vacant parking lot "computer recycle drop off" and leave them there. Check back a week later and see how big the pile is.

Loved the humor! LOL for several minutes. With all the bad press going on right now, soon CFL light bulbs will be added to the list of unwanteds.
