On booting into Win X get this error: Error Message: Initializing Device IOS Windows Protection Error support.microsoft.com/kb/263466Has any one dealt with this be fore?? dilbert

A couple of items can cause this. I am presuming that you are only getting a blue screen of death or just the black screen with white letters. As such, if this is Windows 2000 or XP, you can do a repair install and usually correct it. If it is 98 or ME, you would be best served to load another hard drive with your OS, then use your current drive as a slave, back up your data, and start over on your first drive. Believe me there is no easy fix. Now if you can get into safe mode, (I'm betting that you will not be able to), you could try to do a system restore if you have ME or XP, otherwise please read the above sentences. Sorry.
