I'm a Galaxy S3 user on Sprint. I rooted my S3 and am now running Cyanogenmod v10.1 It's updated nightly, but I only update weekly. These CM updates include Google's revisions to Android's core.

Hi Derek, CyanogenMod is a good open source improvement to Android - with the advantage of frequent builds (as is standard with linux developers using Git repos). So, you're better protected and have the benefit of the "latest goodies." I'm waiting a bit for Ubuntu's tablet/phone system to at least reach beta (and perhaps Firefox OS). Another solution to the issue of tablet/smartphone security is Blackberry - which provides users directly with OS and security updates. us.blackberry.com/business/software/bes-10.html
