Many new computers come with trial versions of security software installed. Frequently, this software is supplied by Symantec. The trial software can be helpful. It means you can get on the Internet right away.
After a month or two, you’ll have to pay to continue to use the software. But you might decide to use free software. In that case, you should remove the trial software. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to remove Symantec security software completely.
Symantec’s Norton Removal Tool can help. Run it after you run the regular uninstall. You can also use it if your Symantec software failed to install correctly. Simply run the removal tool and install the software again!
