I've been pleased that Samsung has pushed out OTA (over the air) Android version updates. The ICS (ice cream sandwich 4.1) and JB (jelly bean 4.2) updates were improvements w/o downside. Kitkat 4.4.2 may not be quite ready for primetime, inmo (in my humble opinion). Shortly after I installed in, I started, receiving an error message I'd never previously seen: '3 applications have been closed. Your device is overheating. You can only use the Phone and Contacts applications. " When it happened while I was composing an email, the email went poof, and I had to start over. I 'googled it' to discover that others with my same tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0) were also experiencing the same thing. As were people losing Adobe Flash, again, with the upgrade. And even before the update, I had 2 emails which had failed to send because of bad addresses, that I couldn't correct or delete, that tried to send, and issued an error notification, each time I powered up my tablet. Everything seems 'all better' now. I went to the BestBuy store at 168th & Burke, in which Samsung has leased space staffed by their employees. Christina, Brett, and John seem to have resolved all my issues. Except maybe it seems as if battery time is much shorter. How long until 4.4.3?
