USB 2.0 256GB is $20. USB 3.0 256GB is $80-90. I need math help here. If 3.0 is 10 times faster than 2.0, then does it mean 3.0 can do the same amount of work in 10% of the time? If it takes 2.0 60 minutes to copy files from one place to another, then does it follow that 3.0 will only take 6 minutes? If all that is true, then it means 3.0 is not worth the price because you can start the copy in 2.0 and go for lunch. Right?

To make use of all the added power a few other changes need to take place. Win7 will be the oldest version of Windows you can use. And you need to download and install additional drivers for Win7. You also need to shellout for a new USB hook-up for the drive. I'm thinking this may all be easier and cheaper in a couple years when I need to build a new system. By then - USB 3.0 will be standard and not an upgrade.
Until then -- I'll plug along on 2.0 -- I have nothing that needs doing in a flash, and few places to be in a hurry.
