How do I get rid of the Microsoft ad, on a permanent basis, that wants to help me get the new Internet Explorer installed? I can click on the red X in the upper right corner, but I would like to get rid of it forever. Ideas?

Hmm, three solid ways to fix this methinks. 1. Best way . . . just say NO to Microshaft and use Firefox newest version (has much better security and spam filtering than prior versions) . OR, 2. Update to Chrome . . . if you have a PC with at least 2 GB ram, Chrome will run quite nicely, and is vastly superior to IE for syncing and access to web services, browser extensions, apps, etc., OR, 3. IF the ad is coming from official MS source, why not upgrade? Your settings and bookmarks should all be copied automagically during the update process . . (resistance is FUTILE . . . )

In the beginning, for me anyway, there were two browsers: IE and Netscape. I was using IE because that's what Microsoft provided for Windows. Why go elsewhere? Long story short, I have never used Netscape (now Firefox) So when IE became very troublesome, and Google's Chrome became available, I gave Chrome a try. I have never looked back! I am a Chromee!!
