According to this HTG (How to Geek) article, this is the ONLY safe site for downloading "free" software (note to slugo-ites: in this case, Free defined as in "beer" vs as in "speech"). htg LINKLink to Ninite SiteNote1: as the concept of official software "repos" (repositories) takes hold in Windows (as it has in Apple and Ubuntu) - users will adapt to getting software only from the official trusted repos versus the software download sites common to Windows now. (repos is the generic term - - most non-Linux folks call them "Apps Store, Google Store, etc.) Note2: IF free as in "speech" (i.e., you can get the source code) matters - - then be sure to look at the software licensing - - GPLv2, GPLv3, Apache, BSD, MIT and a few others are all legit.
