Thanks for the encryption coverage. I need to get something to protect sensitive files, don't want to encrypt entire disk. Since Microsoft doesn't believe in home user encryption, I think I will look at Ax Crypt.

Yes, I agree re MS, but the problem with Windows OS's starts with their lack of an OOTB (out of the box) user/file/device permissions system. Not a system designed but "retrofitted" for multiple users. (It's still "awkward" at best to use windows as user vs admin). ***************************** ******************************** Sounds like many folks are checking out encryption for their sensitive data, especially for use with services like Dropbox, etc. Here's a recent article that was one of several I used to select the 3 encryption apps I personally use.
