Christine always writes insightful articles . . . and while I don't personally plan to update, it's not for these reasons: Christine's article . . We're all just becoming "sheeple" anyway . . rignt? . . . "what say you" ? (see 2nd video below!)

And I still own the wipe and reformat commands and can go with Ubuntu any day I'm tired of MS and their BS.

Hmm, Stevo . . your link is looping back to this thread. But I read today for some PC's , the first official Win10 required patch is bricking some machines: LINK to WIn10 Update FailJim . . . yes, I hear you (so to speak . . ), BUT, if you run a reformat or any other command in Ubuntu, then you're right, you own it. If on the other hand, you run it from any MS or Apple system, then "they", and ONLY they actually own it . . . they just choose to let you run it - - for now. Think the Dell/Battery issue is a PITA?? Even the PC mainboard hardware is now being engulfed by locked MS-Apple firmware: If you even try to install another OS on it, it may "self-destruct" (e.g., UEFI Samsung Laptop fiasco, HP only Windows boot loader spec . . )
