Used to be Souceforge was a great place to get free (FOSS) software . . . . for years it was one of the most visited sites on the web. Bout 3 years ago, "Dice Holding" . . . acquired Sourceforge and thought they'd cut a fat-hog in the arse. Well, it didn't quite work out that way . . . real open source software devs get paid by demo'ing their expertise by being accepted on the projects (a meritocracy). It does translate to dollars, euros, etc. because the value of that experience was reflected on resumes and referrals. Anyway, here's the link . . . it's not certain if the change has come in time, as the new "King" of Open Source repos is GitHub . . . . LINK

It's a shame that greed can take over and eliminate a great freeware repository concept.
