Hi. Me again. My HP 4500 died. I bought a oj3830. EVERYTIME I want to print, out comes a pop up to align it!!!! I'll tell it when to align, and I don't want to spend money on $4,500 per gallon ink when it doesn't need it!! I have just spent over an hour looking for an answer without finding another cheap skate like me. Does any SLUGO member have an answer?

So - to be clear - you HAVE aligned it once, right? I seem to remember, that as part of the install program, my 6830 needed to do a test print and one alignment = a total of 2 pages printed. It has not asked to do it again. So . . . you did the 2 pages, right?? If not - just do them -- they do not use much ink.

Standard cd install or ePrint? Direct USB connect went old style and printed a test pattern and wanted alignment from scanner to heads ans the ePrint just went through the process and said it was aligned. This was on a Win10 system. If you are still fighting it I'd just uninstall and try install again.

I answered these questions several days ago, but I don't see it here. I'll try again: Thanks, Trudy. No, I have not aligned the new printer, which is why it keeps nagging me. I don't believe in just wasting ink to improve HP's bottom line, not at $4,000 a gallon. I will tell it when it needs alignment, and so far it doesn't need it. So how do I get rid of the nagging pop-up?
Thanks, jp. It's a standard cd install.

Mit - it is going to nag you until you align it. It has a check list of things it does during the initial install -- and until it can 'check' alignment as being done - it will continue to nag you. It prints half a page of text and a few lines and bars on a second sheet. Mit, honest, you would use more ink printing your original question and these answers.

Thanks, Trudy, but I'm just stubborn enough to continue to click "Don't Align" each and every time I print anything rather than give in to the ABs! I'll tell it when it needs alignment.
