I have been running a program that is free on internet that is called Vista transformation pack 6.
This program gives you options to make your xp run and look like
vista. I even changed the boot screen so that it says Vista and the start menu says vista now.
It includes options for new icons and incudes some options that xp don't have. So if you want to look like vista without shelling out the money its fun to see what you can do with your xp.
